Alright, just a couple days late — here is some new songs to add to your playlist this week. I’m writing this on my lunch break, so no time for a preface. Sorry!

Simulation Swarm — Big Thief

Okay, this one is cheating a bit. Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You only officially released on February 11th, but Simulation Swarm was released on January 19th. While the rest of the release fully leans into art country, complete with jaw harp and all, Simulation Swarm maintains a slightly more digestible indie rock sound for those who are new to Big Thief.

Crip Ya Enthusiasm — Snoop Dogg

If it’s not apparent from the title, Crip Ya Enthusiasm features a remix of the Curb Your Enthusiasm theme song. Maybe it was foreshadowing for a Super Bowl broadcast featuring both Snoop Dogg and Larry David. It’s not the best song off of Snoop’s new album B.O.D.R, but it is the most fun.

Church Burns — Zeal & Ardor

If we were still in the late 2000s, this song would be a hit on alternative rock radio. The song could easily be mistaken for a track off The Sound of Madness. So if you are mentally still stuck in the 2000s like I am, this track is perfect for you.

Wild — Spoon

Although we’re 26 years separated from their first studio release, Spoon manages to maintain an authentic sound on their newest release Lucifer On The Sofa. So if you enjoy Spoon’s classic sound, you’ll know what to expect with this track. It’s an easy-listening indie rock groove that can really fit any playlist or mood.

How U Feel — $NOT feat Joey Bada$$

Although this is off $NOT’s album, Joey Bada$$ fully commandeers the track and essentially turns it into a B4.DA.$$ bonus track. The lack of $NOT and the full takeover of Joey is really what saves the song, as the rest of the album is severely lackluster. Also, what a collab for the amount of dollar signs alone.
